dsc_0509-768x511Take your practice to a deeper, more spiritual place by unrolling your mat in the heart of the Costa Rican rainforest! This prana-rich environment will enliven you, filling you with energy and vitality. Join Instructor Mitch Coleman (CYI 500) at a sustainable eco-lodge hotel, offering an intimate experience of primary rainforest, together with a certified organic biodynamic farm. Mitch has a relaxed, informal style, putting students at ease, while encouraging them to bend, stretch, strengthen and tone, and to have fun doing it.

The accommodations are at the center of an array of geological wonders, perfect for hiking, biking, and observing nature. The nearby Arenal is Costa Rica’s most active volcano. The Catarata de La Fortuna is a waterfall pouring from a seventy-meter cliff. Observe 240 different species of birds with nearly 20 species of hummingbirds.  Walk through well-groomed rain forest trails on guided farm tours and hikes, then enjoy gourmet meals prepared from fresh, organic garden produce.resort-1-768x512

img_1276-1-e1459784016357-225x300“I was 50 years old, before I discovered what I wanted to be when I grew up. While on a weekend visit to the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, in Lennox, Ma., in 2005, I had a ‘Road to Damascus’ moment, and I knew, from that moment, that my heart was calling me to teach yoga. Through my own practice, through leading thousands of classes, and through meeting many kind, caring and wonderful people in what I call ‘yoga world,’ I have found the kind of joy that I never thought I could find in any career. I am so blessed to be able to do what I do, and so blessed by the people who visit my studio each week. We practice together, we learn from each other.”

Mitch Coleman has been teaching yoga since 2006. He opened his studio, White River Yoga, in Montague, Michigan, in 2007. He received his 200-hour training at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in 2006, and his 500-hour training in Koh Samui, Thailand, with Michel Besnard in 2012.
